Cockapoos are gaining in popularity because they are so easily trained and generally mild mannered. Make sure you are getting a true Cockapoo and not some other mix passed off as a Cockapoo!

Cockapoo is one of the oldest designer breeds. The American Cockapoo Club was founded in 1998 and is dedicated towards the preservation of this breed.

Breed History
A Cockapoo can be the result of mating either the American Cocker Spaniel or English Cocker Spaniel with a Poodle. They have been known in the United States since the 1950s.

Ownership
Cockapoos are active dogs with a lot of energy and require a good daily walk. They are an intelligent cross that loves agility and playing games. Cockapoos thrive on human companionship and some can be what we call “velcro” dogs. They do require regular grooming to keep their coats matt free. A cockapoos lifespan can be 12-16 yrs. They are considered low to no shed depending on the multi-generation cross.
Characteristics
Cockapoos have become popular because they generally combine the outgoing, loving personality of the Cocker Spaniel with the low-shedding, low-dander qualities of the Poodle. We raise only F1 (first generation), with a cocker spaniel female to a miniature poodle male. Size range varies from 15/22 lbs., generally. We can not guarantee a specific size.
